10,000 Maniacs’ “These Are Days” was a euphoric ode to youth in 1992, but amid global heating, a pandemic, and political chaos, it becomes a menacing darkwave stomper.

Likewise, The Cure’s “Dredd Song” began as a 1995 plea for personal strength—but here it is a collective call to keep marching, to hope for hope.

Finally saw Kanga last night in Austin. Amazing and even more energetic than I had expected. The sound was terrific! This is my favorite album thus far but, she keeps getting better.
